Q: Can I own Nicaragua real estate in my name, or does it need to be in the name of a Nicaraguan corporation?

You can own Nicaragua real estate in your own name as a foreigner, or in the name of a Nicaraguan corporation, or in the name of a foreign corporation. Each option has its pros and cons. Owning Nicaragua property in your own name is the easiest, and owning in the name of a foreign corporation is the most cumbersome. Owning in the name of a Nicaraguan corporation requires that the corporation have a minimum of two shareholders.
